Equipment

Barton County Ambulance maintains four modern ambulances, one quick response command vehicle, a John Deere all-terrain utility vehicle and a mass casualty trailer stocked with supplies to handle a large scale medical emergency.

The Lifepak 12, by Physio-Control(pictured right) allows the advanced provider to quickly obtain an EKG, or an "Electrical picture of the heart" of patients, as well as allowing them to defibrilate and externally pace patients in a pre-hospital setting. It also serves as an AED for the basic provider.

The EZ-IO, by Vidacare (pictured right) allows the advanced provider to obtain intraosseous access quickly and effectivly when attempts at traditional intravascular(IV) access is renderd difficult or impossible by the patients condition.

Barton County Ambulance District strives to stay on the cutting edge of current pre-hospital technology.

These are just a few examples of some of the modern day equipment you can find on our ambulances.

The Zoll Autopulse, pictured left, serves as a replacement for traditional, manual compressions during CPR.
It has been proven in clinical studies to provide a more effective compression than manual compressions, promoting better blood flow in the cardiac arrest patient.

Two of the disctricts ambulances sit side-by-side. These are both 2003 Ford E-450 Super Duty ambulances.
